Ep 58 What Your Favorite Pet & Your Body Have in Common

PODCAST EPISODE 58

In this episode I discuss a client who took better care of her dog than herself. Her thoughts around her dog are amazing and led to some revolutionary new thoughts about her own self-care.

I wrote a blog about her that I’m including below and we’re using the same analogy with exercise in this podcast. It all comes from deciding ahead of time that YOU are just as important as your most beloved dog.

Enjoy the show.

What Your Favorite Pet & Your Body Have in Common

I was talking to one of my beloved clients recently.

She gets this special dog food for her dog. It has all organic ingredients and it’s very expensive. She only wants the very best for him! He’s one of her favorite pals!

She makes sure he gets the proper exercise, eats the right amount of food at the right time and she stays clued into his doggy signals.

She showed me a picture of him… he looks vibrant and healthy. She’s proud of the way he looks and how healthy he is, because she has helped him get there.

This client has a hard time taking care of her own body sometimes, like eating when she’s hungry and stopping when she’s full. Like choosing the highest quality of food for herself.

It dawned on me that if she could take care of her body and its special needs, the way she takes care of her dog… she would be just as proud of herself as she is of her dog.

My homework assignment to her for the next week was to take care of her body the way she takes care of her dog’s body.

What would she do differently? What would she do the same?

How would YOU treat your body if you loved it as much as your most beloved, favorite pet?
