Ep 230 What Do Buddhism, Urges and Overeating Have in Common?

PODCAST EPISODE 230

I am always amazed when I read anything by Pema Chodron and Buddhist philosophy.

It helps me understand more why we eat when we’re not hungry.

Losing weight is more about your mind than food.

And Buddhism is all about the mind.

In her book Taking the Leap she introduces the Tibetan word Shenpa, which means attachment or more simply put “hooked…”

Have you ever had poison ivy before?

Then you will truly understand her analogy of the need to itch and the desire to stop.

Since the healing is in the stopping.

She also gives us an age old technique with 3 simple steps to be able to stay with the itch without itching.

Urges are just itches.

Listen here as I combine 5000 years of age old wisdom with your urges to overeat.

Mind-blowing!!

Enjoy the show!
