If there’s one thing I always like to emphasize in my coaching, it’s that developing a mind-body connection is important. And there is no better time to become a body whisperer than when you’re going through menopause, because you’re not going to get past 50 without that connection. And it’s not just for weight gain. In fact, weight gain is the least of your problems.
This brings me to what I want to talk about this week which is food journaling. Food journals are life-changing because it’s not just a list of what you put in your mouth. It helps you uncover so much about yourself. I’ll be sharing a story with a beloved client who was having trouble with nighttime eating and gained weight as a consequence of it. With food journaling and excellent coaching, she was able to discover everything that was going on beneath that habit. And when you can see what’s going on, that’s when you have the power to change it.
Listen to your body, especially when it’s hurting. Pain is your body’s whisper to you that something is wrong. You’re going to have to deal with the things that make that hurt worse, and it’s time to be proactive about your pain. Stay tuned!
