Ep 303: You Can’t Eat Away Sadness

Last week, I talked about urges and the detrimental impact they can have on you when you choose to resist them rather than feel them. And I want to continue that discussion but from a more emotional perspective this time because I know many of us have struggled with emotional eating over the course of our lives.

A lot of clients tell me that they don’t know what they’re feeling, and all they can feel is that strong urge to do something. In this episode, I want to share a real story from one of my beloved clients whose resistance to her own sadness made her fog eat in an attempt to fill up that emotional hole inside of herself. She knew that something was wrong, but she wasn’t able to pinpoint it until she spoke to me and together, helped process her emotions.

I hope my client’s beautiful story will help you understand emotions and urges on a deeper level. It’s okay to feel sad, because we’ll all have our sad moments, but let my client’s story serve as a perfect example of how allowing yourself to feel that emotion can lead you to achieve freedom and inner peace.
