Did you know that trying to please people puts both emotional and physical weight on you? Eating and socializing go hand in hand a lot, but when the desire to please somebody overtakes us, we can end up with unplanned joy eats or eating beyond the twos. Stop saying “yes” when you actually want to say “no.”
This was a challenge a client of mine struggled with, and her story is what I want to share with you all today. In her efforts to please her mother, she actually went against herself because she didn’t know how to stand up for herself. But it became a learning experience for her because when she learned to be honest with herself, it changed her relationship with her mother for the better.
It’s not your job to please others 24/7. When we’re cleaner with ourselves, we get to create better relationships in our lives. So if you are anything like my client and you are trying to find that confidence to say no, give this episode a listen. We all have the power to build our own relationships – so why not start with yourself?
