If you have ever tried to lose weight, you may have used food at one point as a reward or punishment- usually as the former since we don’t feel as good about ourselves, and we think we should deprive ourselves. But the way our brains work is that it naturally gravitates toward pleasure. Therefore, being self-deprecating will not be a sustainable source of motivation in the long run.
In this episode, I really want you to think about what motivates you to lose weight. After working with hundreds of women, I’ve seen that they begin losing weight when they begin to love and accept themselves. How do they do that? By rewarding themselves by knowing that when they eat, they’re doing it to take greater care of themselves
This week, I invite you to ask yourself the question: Why am I eating when I’m not even hungry? It’s time to find the reward in eating when you’re hungry and stopping when you’re full. Love yourself first, and the weight loss will come naturally afterward. Enjoy the show!
