Have you ever said you weren’t “tempted” by food and felt proud of yourself? I want to challenge that thinking because it might be keeping you stuck.
I just had the most interesting conversation with a client who came back from vacation feeling good about her eating. She told me she “didn’t have many temptations” while traveling, which got my coach brain spinning. Here’s what I realized – when you think something is a temptation, you’re handing your power over to food. You’re saying that food controls you instead of you controlling food. I used a marriage metaphor with her that I think will help you too. I asked her if she gets tempted by other men when she travels, and of course she said no – she’s committed to her husband. What if you could be that committed to yourself around food? When you’re rooted in love and commitment, temptation isn’t even on the radar. We talked about changing “I’m tempted” to “I notice I have a thought about food” and how this one shift can change everything.
If you’ve been struggling with feeling powerless around food, especially in menopause when everything feels harder, this episode will give you a completely new way to think about your relationship with food. Enjoy the show!
