You Can’t Eat Your Way to Thin Thinking in Menopause

PODCAST EPISODE 471

In today’s episode, I’m diving deep into the Self-Coaching Model — a powerful tool that helps you understand why you do what you do, especially when it comes to eating.

Here’s the truth: No matter how perfectly you eat, you can’t eat your way to thin thinking. Why? Because eating doesn’t change your thoughts. It might comfort you for a moment, but it never changes the real reason you’re overeating in the first place.

That’s where the Self-Coaching Model comes in. It has five parts:

  1. Circumstance – Something that happens in your life (like stepping on the scale).
  2. Thought – What you make it mean (like, “I’ll never lose weight”).
  3. Feeling – How that thought makes you feel (frustrated, ashamed, hopeless).
  4. Action – What you do when you feel that way (eat ice cream, skip your walk).
  5. Result – The outcome (you don’t lose weight, and feel even worse).

In this episode, I show you how to slow down and actually see your thinking. I walk you through examples so you can spot your own model and understand how to shift it — starting with your thoughts, not your food.

So if you’ve been trying to think your way to thin while still reacting emotionally to food, this episode will show you a new way. It’s not about willpower. It’s about awareness.

I can’t wait for you to hear this. Enjoy the show!
