Menopause can lead to stronger emotions, which can trigger overeating as a coping mechanism. However, this type of emotional eating is not sustainable, and it can lead to weight gain and other health problems.
In this episode, I’ll discuss the impact of menopause on emotional eating, particularly for women who have struggled with their weight throughout their lives. I advise you to feel and acknowledge your emotions rather than use food to cope with them. Rate the strength of the urge to eat and practicing physical hunger and fullness awareness. By doing this, you can train your observer mind to pause and think with the smarter part of your brain instead of the primal brain.
Be kind to yourself and lessen the power of negative emotions to become more empowered during menopause. Enjoy the show!
