In this episode, we discuss one of the main ways your body has of getting your attention in menopause is by weight gain.
Menopause is a time to reflect on how you’ve been treating your body. Maybe you’ve gotten away with bad eating habits with no weight gain or ill health, until you hit menopause. But as menopause changes your body, it also is a time for to reflect on what’s not working. And I guarantee you what’s not working are all your bad habits, such as eating too much flour and sugar, or emotional eating. You can’t treat your body like you used to, you can’t mistreat your body like you used to and continue to stay healthy and fit.
The fact is your body is more resilient when it’s younger, and it puts up with less bad habits as you age. This is a good thing, because how you age is a direct result with how you treat yourself. If you’ve been treating your body poorly in your younger years, with no known negative results, menopause is a wakeup call. It’s time to pay attention, your body is asking that of you now. It’s a good time to clean up your act and clean up your food.
There is nothing wrong with your body, it is just screams faster.
My challenge to you: are you willing to become a body whisperer as you go through menopause? When you come out on the other end, you will be able to say, “I am better than ever. I know myself better than ever, and I know what I need better than ever.”
