Do you ever wonder why you like to eat more at night than at any other time during the day?

Hi Dr. Deb,

I have just started listening to your Podcasts and I am really enjoying them. I also downloaded the podcast companion.

I have a question.

My biggest obstacle to weight loss is eating too much at dinner during the work week and continuing eating until bedtime.

In one of the podcasts, this was a problem that someone asked about. Your response was that using willpower to stop this behavior would not work over the long-term. My question is what is it that we should be using, other than willpower, to stop eating when we are not physically hungry? When I am in this red zone (that is how I think of it) I know intellectually that I do not need to eat anymore. That I am physically full. But, I crave more food. I feel hungry, or over-desire. I am trying to understand how to stop or get past these feelings.

This type of over eating in the evenings after work has become habitual, so I know that I have a lot of mental work to do to stop it.
