I did a podcast recently where I was going to coach a podcast listener. In the middle of the call I lost internet and had to end it.
If you want to hear a less than perfect coaching session and podcast episode go back and listen to #204.
I fixed it as best I could and put it out anyway.
Before my non-perfectionist epiphanies of my menopausal transformation this NEVER would have happened.
Not to mention that I wouldn’t have 206 episodes or be at a steady, natural weight after 30 years of the yo-yo effect or be doing this passionate work that I now get to do on a daily basis.
I immediately received a letter from a previous beloved client who thanked me for showing what it’s like to do less than perfect work by putting this podcast out.
Who knew?
Honestly, when I released the podcast, I didn’t even think of it this way until it was brought to my attention.
What do you really really really want?
If you’re willing to be less than perfect and just start, what might happen?
Wouldn’t you love to find out?
Read my client’s letter that inspired this whole thing:
I wanted to reach out to you regarding your podcast 204 on “How to stop being afraid of feeling your anger and sadness”. I know your podcast was on how to stop being afraid but the take away on got on the podcast is that you do not have to be perfect. For example, you were not able to complete the call with Karen, due to internet issues, but you still decided to use her call in the podcast. As someone who is working on perfectionism issues, you demonstrated that whatever you do, it does not need to be perfect. You took the technical glitch and were able to make it still work.
Now as I write this, a light bulb went off in my head, and I can use this podcast to not be afraid if something does not work out as it was originally planned, I can still make it work, and everything will be alright.
Otherwise, to catch you up on what is happening in my life, I still have maintained my weight loss of 25 pounds and have kept the weight off for over a year. Furthermore, I am able to use what I learned from when we worked together and apply the tools in all aspects of my life.
