Recently I gave myself a chance to hang out with myself.
I woke up feeling like I might be getting sick.
I had warning signs from my body.
I know my body well.
I listen to it MOST of the time.
I made an executive decision to take the day off from my busy schedule and relax.
I just stayed home in my pajamas and payed attention to me. (Don’t judge me!)
Sometimes it was painful…
I didn’t realize all the feelings and thoughts that were running around up there.
I have been way too busy too notice.
So, for the day I just paid attention to me.
I fed myself fuel food when I was hungry.
I also noticed when I started feeling anxious…
I wanted to go into the kitchen and find something to eat. (Hint: I was not hungry.)
Very interesting!
I would relax when I felt tired.
I watched some of my good for nothing, but fun, TV programs with pure enjoyment.
I stopped when the enjoyment was over.
I didn’t talk on my phone or check my text or my emails.
That made me very nervous.
I just noticed, but didn’t try to numb it with TV or food or electronics… just me and my feelings.
I woke up the next day feeling refreshed, energetic and less achy.
It was such a pleasure to spend time with me and give myself what I need.
I now remember how my body talks to me when its hungry and tired and anxious.
Moral of this story?
You can never truly get to your natural weight or be healthy if you don’t pay attention.
Give yourself the time and attention you deserve.
If you don’t pay attention to you… who will?
