Oh boy, it’s the season to overstuff yourself again.
Gain weight, eat too much, ignore yourself, tell yourself you deserve all this bull #$%%, and if course gain weight!
And then… get ready for your new diet in the new year.
As my fellow coach and friend Lin Eleoff says… cry, repeat, cry, repeat.
I used to do just that… until I learned one simple idea… what the mind thinks, the body achieves.
I know stats all over say you’re gonna gain between 7-10 lbs. between Thanksgiving and the New Year.
I used to do just that.
Since I believed that’s what I was gonna do… I got right down to proving those thoughts to be true. How?
I used to think:
I’m gonna treat myself this season
I don’t wanna miss out on all the fun (food,) poor, poor me!
Everybody else is eating what they want.
I’ll get back on track in the new year. (I’ll restrict, deprive… whatever it takes!)
I used to believe all my thoughts… I know you and most of my clients do too.
But guess what? You can believe something different. Most of my clients tell me, “That’s just what I do! That’s just how I am!”
That’s a lie… you can think anything you want. Try this thought on…
“I don’t do that anymore.”
The next time you are at a party and you’re not hungry anymore… and you see something that looks really good, and you go to reach for it because you start to think, “That’s just what I do.”
But… you catch yourself, and instead tell yourself…
“I don’t do that anymore.”
The power of thought… let me know how it “fits!”
