Ep 13 Starting Your Mindful Weight Loss Journey When You Don’t Know How

This episode is all about starting this new way of mindful eating and thinking. I show you how to start, by using the meals that bring up the least emotion first. We are starting with small steps that are really easy, to create bigger results over time. Starting is the hardest part of any process.

You want to ease your mind, just like we talked about in my exercise podcast, by telling yourself this is so easy. It allows your mind to relax, if you really believe it. That’s the most important part: believing what you think.

In this episode I start you with the easiest step first. That would mean using your easiest, least emotional meal to notice first. I wouldn’t start with a binge or a fog. I would start with an easier meal where you your emotions are minimal and you’re just watching your physical hunger first, but without judgments. That is critical – no judgement.

We would not start on a big binge first. Why? Because most of my clients don’t want to write it or acknowledge it. So we start with something easier, like a fuel meal and just notice your hunger. Then as you get more experienced with looking without judging, we go to a fog meal with light emotional hunger and once again practice no judgment.

In this call I also give you an example of a client who fogged, and had enough awareness to check it out. I think this will help you start by learning from other’s experiences.
